Meet the Team – Amy, Essex Area Manager

Meet the Team - Amy (Essex Area Manager)

Amy has been a key part of the Peak Commercial Cleaning team over a number of years. She originally worked with us as a Site Supervisor before rejoining the business in February 2025 as a part time Area Manager.

In April 2026, Amy stepped into a full time Area Manager role, taking responsibility for our Essex sites. Alongside overseeing site standards and supporting our cleaning teams, she also plays a key role in the day to day operations of the business and has become an invaluable member of the team.

We asked Amy to share more about her role, what her days look like, and how she supports our teams across Essex.

What does your role as Area Manage involve on a day-to-day basis?

As an Area Manager at Peak Commercial Cleaning, no two days are the same, which is something I really enjoy about the role. My day to day responsibilities focus on ensuring cleaning operations run smoothly across multiple client sites, while maintaining high standards, supporting staff, and meeting business targets. My role combines operational management, staff supervision, and client relationship management.

What does a typical day look like for you out on-site supporting our cleaning teams?

A typical day for me out on-site at Peak Commercial Cleaning involves visiting client locations to support the cleaning teams and ensure standards are maintained.

I check in with staff to make sure they have the equipment and support they need, carry out quality inspections, and provide guidance or training where required.

I also liaise with clients to ensure they’re happy with the service and resolve any issues promptly. My focus is on supporting the team, maintaining high standards, and ensuring smooth, reliable service delivery.

How do you support and motivate your cleaning staff to maintain high standards?

I support and motivate my cleaning staff by being present, approachable, and leading by example. I regularly visit sites to check in with the team, make sure they have the right equipment and clear instructions, and provide hands-on support where needed.

I carry out quality checks and give constructive feedback, recognising good work to boost morale and confidence. I also provide on-the-job training and coaching to help staff improve their skills and feel valued in their role. By building positive relationships, listening to their concerns, and responding quickly to any issues, I help create a supportive environment where staff feel motivated to maintain high standards and take pride in their work.

What is your approach to carrying out site audits and quality checks?

My approach to carrying out site audits and quality checks is structured, consistent, and supportive. When I arrive on-site, I review the cleaning schedule and walk through all relevant areas using the company audit checklist to ensure standards are being met. I look at the quality of cleaning, attention to detail, and whether health and safety procedures are being followed, including correct use of equipment and chemicals.

I speak with the cleaning staff to make sure they understand expectations and address any questions or challenges they may have. If I identify any issues, I deal with them promptly by providing guidance, additional training, or putting an action plan in place. I also document my findings and share feedback with both the team and management where necessary.

My focus is not only on maintaining high standards but also on supporting and developing the team to ensure consistent quality and continuous improvement.

How do you support new team members during their induction and early stages on-site?

I support new team members by making sure they feel welcomed, confident, and fully prepared from day one. I start by introducing them to the site, explaining their responsibilities, and going through health and safety procedures, including correct use of equipment and chemicals. I demonstrate the required cleaning standards and work alongside them initially to ensure they understand expectations.

During their early stages, I carry out regular check-ins to see how they’re settling in, answer any questions, and provide additional coaching where needed. I also give positive feedback to build their confidence and address any issues early on. My goal is to ensure they feel supported, capable, and part of the team so they can perform their role safely and to a high standard.

What do you enjoy most about working closely with our cleaning teams across Essex?

I enjoy being able to support them, help solve problems, and make their jobs easier by ensuring they have the right tools and guidance. It’s really rewarding to see their confidence grow and to know that, together, we’re delivering a high standard of service for our clients. Being out on-site and working directly with the team also helps create a positive, supportive environment where everyone feels valued and motivated.
